9mm MDF T&G (1200mm x 600mm x 9mm)

Tongue and Groove MDF (0.72M2 per board)

This 9mm Tongue and Groove MDF panel measures 1200mm by 600mm, covering 0.72m² per board. It uses T&G joints along it's edges to avoid the use of any fixings, maintaining the acoustic integrity of your chosen acoustic underlay or panel.

Used often when installing luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) over Acoustic underlays such as dB Matting 12mm, dB Matting 15mm, dB Panel, Hush Panel, or Acoustilay.

When used in conjunction with Acoustilay it is recommended to follow the guidelines in the ‘Laminate, Vinyl, Carpet Tile, Bonded Carpet Floor Finishes’ section of the Acoustilay datasheet, substituting the standard 6mm T&G Acoustilay MDF with a thicker timber-based board.

Our 9mm T&G MDF is the minimum recommended thickness, with all joints staggered for stability. Good practice applies in all cases. Prior to installation, the floor should be level, clean, and dry.

The MDF boards should be bonded to the chosen underlay using an appropriate  Adhesive and to each other using a PVA Adhesive on the tongue & groove joint, and any such joint should be a minimum of 50mm away from any underlay joint. An isolation gap of 5-10mm should be left between the wall and the MDF to avoid sound transmission flanking into the structure.  The isolation gap should be filled with Acoustic Sealant AC50.

9mm MDF is 5kg per sheet.
